Three former executives of a Colorado Springs medical equipment company and a consultant are named in a federal indictment claiming that they imported medical devices that weren't cleared for use by the federal government.
The U.S. attorney's office in Denver said Monday that the former Spectranetics Corp. officials have been indicted on charges of conspiracy, making false statements and importing adulterated and misbranded medical devices from 2004 through October 2008.
Authorities say George John Schulte, 62, of Wellesley, Mass., the former chief executive, was arrested Monday.
Former executives Obinna Adhigije, 50, of Encinitas, Calif., and Trung Pham, 37, of Colorado Springs are expected to turn themselves in Wednesday.
A consultant who was indicted is out of the country.
