CHICAGO (AP) - Former Chicago Bears player David Terrell is being held on $10,000 bond for a domestic battery charge.

Court documents allege he grabbed his ex-girlfriend during an argument inside his high-rise Chicago apartment and threatened to throw her off a balcony. The 33-year-old was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and appeared in court Saturday.

Terrell's attorney declined to comment, saying his client is innocent. Terrell was arrested Friday.

Chicago police say the woman checked into a Chicago hospital after leaving Terrell's apartment and contacted police.

Terrell, who played for the University of Michigan, was drafted by the Bears in 2001. The wide receiver played four seasons with the Bears and one with the Denver Broncos. He finished his career with 128 receptions and 9 touchdowns.

He's due in court April 30.
