Food prices up for this Fourth of July

Firing up the grill today for the fourth may cost you a little more this year.

The latest USDA price outlook shows the consumer price index for all food is 1.4% higher than last year, with the biggest price spikes for most animal-based food products.

Beef prices are about 1.7% higher than May 2012.

Ground beef is up 1.1%, and poultry prices are even higher, up 5.6% from last year.

Most analysts don't expect prices to drop any lower this summer.
