Conservative Christian group Focus on the Family is laying off 8 percent of its work force. It's the result of the latest budget shortfall at the influential conservative Christian group.
Gary Schneeberger, spokesman for the group founded by child psychologist James Dobson, says 75 employees will lose their jobs and an additional 57 vacant positions will remain unfilled.
In a statement Wednesday, he says the cutbacks are necessary because projections show the group will fall 5 percent short of its $138 million budget.
