Flying off on high note

Mother Nature gave the pilots of the Colorado Balloon Classic a beautiful send off Monday morning. Memorial Park was filled with color as 62 balloons took to the skies above Colorado Springs.

Temperatures were cool and there was hardly any wind to speak of. The balloon classic is celebrating it's 35th anniversary this year and president Patsy Buchwald says she couldn't have asked for a better finish.

"It's always good for the pilots to end while they're flying in the festival," Buchwald said. "They may get home a little later tonight or tomorrow or where ever their travels will take them but they love to fly that's why they come here is to fly and to entertain."

Not long after the send off, they were back at work planning next year's event.
