COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado Springs will soon be getting another high end resort.
The Flying Horse is adding up scale lodging to its golf course and club house on the northeast side of the city.
Residents who live in the area said its been the one thing missing from the Flying Horse, but the new lodge will change that.
"Its going to be very complimentary to what Flying Horse already has to offer," said club member Gary Sims
"Its a package deal. You can stay there, you got restaurant, golf, meeting coverage. Its nice," said club member Tom Brennan.
The 48 room lodge will target a very specific group: the high end business crowd.
"It's geared toward meetings, mainly corporate meetings. We'll have irgonomical chairs, power desks for high end meetings," said Fredo Killing with the Flying Horse.
It's a market Killing said is booming.
"There's definitely plenty of business. The meetings market value is still in the billions of dollars. It's a 17-18 billion dollar market. If you do your work and know how to get it you'll get your share," said Killing.
And tapping into that could end up being good news for the entire city, particularly the north side.
"It draws in people from out of town and makes it kind of a destination place not unlike the Broadmoor. Its just something up north," said Brennan.
"There's nothing of this caliber on north side of town with guest rooms so i think it will give us nice little anchor and something the city can be proud of," said Killing.
The project is far from ready, but it already has the area buzzing. Some people are actually excited to see the normally ugly signs of construction.
"I've been out of town for couple weeks so to come back and see whats happen over the past few weeks starts to get you more excited about it," said Sims.
The new lodge should be open in the fall of 2015.
