Floyd Little inducted into Hall of Fame

There are now three Denver Broncos enshrined in the in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. On Saturday, running back Floyd Little joined John Elway and Gary Zimmerman in receiving his golden sportcoat and bronze bust in Canton, Ohio.

Presented by his son Marc, Little joined the hall with fellow Class of 2010 members Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, John Randle, Russ Grimm, Dick LeBeau and Ricky Jackson.

"I stand here today celebrating my athletics life journey and I understand the significance, everything else pales in comparison," Little said during his acceptance address.

"Every player suits up wishing to one day have this honor and I encourage you all to continue to dream for this moment."

Nicknamed "the franchcise," Little was the face of the Denver Broncos in the late 1960's and early 1970's. His playmaking ability filled the seats in Denver week in and week out. In fact, he is commonly credited with keeping the team from leaving Colorado altogether.

Little set all of the Broncos rushing records, most of which remained unbroken until the late 90's and the arrival of Terrell Davis.

He and Broncos fans everywhere waited 30 years for him to be accepted into the hall, including his former college classmate Vice President Joe Biden. Mr Biden lobbied for Little's candidacy into the hall during the Democratic National Convention in two years ago. A special video message from Biden congratulating Little was played during the presentation ceremony.
