Flowers mark 5th anniversary of CSPD officer killed on-duty

Flowers and a wreath decorate a memorial to Colorado Springs Police Officer Ken Jordan at the spot he was fatally shot Dec. 4, 2006. Officer Jordan died just after midnight on Dec. 5. Jordan had responded to the Fountain Blvd. bridge over Sand Creek to provide backup for another officer making a DUI stop.
Marco Lee then opened fire, fatally wounding Jordan. The fellow officer returned fire, hitting and wounding Lee. Lee pleaded guilty to the crime and is serving a life sentence.
