There's no doubt that Florence fans travel well. Clad in blue, the Huskies faithful packed the visitor's bleachers at Justin DeSorrento Memorial Field in Englewood.
But even the boisterous cheers and chants from the Florence sideline were not enough to stifle the mighty roar of Kent Denver sophomore Jaden Franklin.
The reigning 2A state champs were outmatched by Franklin's agile speed. The running back scored three of his four touchdowns in the first half, which ended in a 21-7 advantage for the Sun Devils.
Kent Denver continued to tally up points in the second half with a final score of 42-16, halting the playoff hopes for Florence and diminishing any chance to repeat last year's success.
The semifinal was the last game for Huskies Coach Mark Buderus.
