The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for El Paso and Teller counties from Noon until 9 PM today.
Dangerous flash flooding is possible again this afternoon and evening, and the weather pattern is one that favors the same areas that have experienced flash flooding recently.
Showers and thunderstorms will begin developing in the mountains close to midday. Throughout the afternoon, those showers and thunderstorms will move out of the mountains and bring heavy rainfall in short periods of time. That heavy rain could cause flash flooding, especially in those areas prone to flash flooding.
Be weather aware today, and be ready to move to higher ground quickly if flash flooding occurs.
