Flash Flood Watch extended to 3 AM Tuesday

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for El Paso and Teller counties from Noon Monday until 3 AM Tuesday.

Heavy rain is possible again today, and areas right along the mountains are especially favored because of an upslope breeze that blows into eastern slopes of the mountains. This means dangerous flash flooding could be a threat again for areas around the Waldo Canyon burn scar and Manitou Springs.

Be especially weather aware if you are in the Manitou Springs. If you plan to drive Highway 24 in either direction this afternoon or evening, please check on weather and traffic information before you enter that area.

If flash flooding occurs or if a warning is issued, move to higher ground immediately for your safety.
