The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a Flash Flood Watch for parts of southern Colorado. The watch will be in effect from noon until 9pm MT Sunday. Counties included are Crowley, El Paso, Fremont, Huerfano, Las Animas, Otero, Pueblo and Teller.
Thunderstorms capable of producing heavy downpours will be possible across the area this afternoon and evening. Storms will be slow moving, and could produce rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches per hour. This amount of rain, combined with saturated soils from heavy rain across the area Saturday night, will bring an increased potential for flash flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
