Flags at half-staff for fallen Monte Vista soldier

Flags in Colorado are flying at half-staff today in honor of a fallen soldier.

Army Sgt. Faith Hinkley of Monte Vista died Aug. 7 in Baghdad after she was wounded in a rocket explosion. An Army specialist at the time of her death, she was posthumously promoted to sergeant.

Sgt. Hinkley graduated from Monte Vista High School in 2006. Her funeral service is set for today at the high school.

Gov. Bill Ritter ordered all U.S. and Colorado flags to be lowered in honor of Sgt. Hinkley. He is scheduled to attend her memorial service.
