Five people, including a one-year-old child, were seriously injured after a head-on crash at the intersection of Jones and Log roads near Peyton on Sunday.
According to the Colorado State Patrol just at 12:20 p.m. a Volkswagen Jetta driven by Sarah Lacrocca, 25, was traveling westbound on Jones Road when it crossed the road and crashed into an eastbound Mazda. Larocca and her passenger Evan Losee, 27, weren't wearing seatbelts and suffered serious injuries. A one-year-old child in Larocca's car was properly restrained but did suffer a broken arm.
Sheldon Carster, 53, the driver of the Mazda suffered serious injuries as did his passenger Connie Carson, 52. They were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
"The adults all suffered various broken bones and those types of injuries," explained Sgt. Scott Hophan of the Colorado State Patrol. "They were all transported to local hospitals
Sgt. Hophan said excessive speed is considered a contributing factor to the crash, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have contributed to the accident.
Sarah Larocca may be charged in connection with the crash.
