Fiscal cliff disconnect

WASHINGTON (AP) - The clock is ticking on the approach to the fiscal cliff and a disconnect remains in what the parties are willing to do to prevent it.

Republicans' newfound willingness to consider tax increases comes with a catch: larger cuts than Democrats seem willing to consider to benefit programs.

And there's an impasse with the White House over raising tax rates on upper-bracket earners.
