DETROIT (AP) - It was history in zebra stripes yesterday. When Shannon Eastin worked the St. Louis Rams-Detroit Lions game, she became the first woman official in an NFL regular-season game. Before the national anthem, Eastin tucked her ponytail under her cap. Eastin is among the replacement refs hired by the league while the regular officials are locked out. As the game ended, Eastin helped to separate Rams and Lions players who were pushing and shoving. Detroit won 27-23. And Lions coach Jim Schwartz says having the first female official is "a great milestone."
