First photos of Giffords; Aide: Time nearing for Giffords' hospital release

PHOENIX (AP) - Gabrielle Giffords' spokeswoman says the Arizona congresswoman still has a long way to go in her recovery from a gunshot wound to the head.
But her office has posted a pair of photos of Giffords taken
last month. Both are outdoors and one shows her smiling. The other shows her sitting with her mother.
The photos appear on Giffords' Facebook page.
Giffords has been in a Houston rehab facility since two weeks
after the Jan. 8 shooting. Six people were killed and 13 were
injured, including Giffords.
A Giffords aide says the congresswoman could be released from
her rehabilitation hospital in Houston as early as this month. When it happens, there will be a lengthy period of outpatient rehab.
