First CSPD academy in nearly 2 years

For the first time in nearly two years the Colorado Springs Police Department is holding a police academy for 24 new recruits. In addition to the recruits, 4 other existing officers are transfering into the department. Police say these new officers are sorely needed after the departure of around 40 staff members when the city's budget problems initially hit. We'll have more tonight on News First 5 at 6 and 10.
