Today will be windy once again. That wind combined with a dry ground means the danger for fires to grow quickly out of control still exists. A Red Flag Warning continues for southern and western El Paso County (including Colorado Springs), Teller County, Fremont County, Custer County, western Huerfano County, western Las Animas County, far eastern Las Animas County, Baca County, the Wet Mountains, and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This means that any outdoor burning should be put off until more favorable weather conditions exist to keep larger fires from forming.
Today will be warm and windy. Under bright sunshine, Colorado Springs will warm into the lower 70's. Higher elevations of the Palmer Divide and Teller County will warm only into the 60's today. Expect lower-to-middle 80's along and south of the Arkansas River. Tonight will be cool with 40's and 50's.
Saturday will be even cooler. The wind will relax a bit and become more upslope, helping to cool the air and provide a few more clouds. Rain producing clouds will generally stay in higher elevations along the Continental Divide.
