Fire crews are working rapidly to contain a grass fire that was sparked by a lawn mower in the Black Forest and Falcon area. The fire began in a pasture area near 12030 Oregon Wagon Trail Rd. The initial call came in shortly before 11:00 A.M. and went from 1/2 acre to over 3 acres in just a few minutes. Dry conditions, wind and warmer than usual weather have made fires potentially more dangerous than usual.

El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies are diverting traffic away from the scene so that fire crews can work safely while moving from one area to another. No evacuation orders have been made as of yet. There are structures in the immediate area of the fire.
