Associated Press/News 5 -- A wildfire burning in steep, rough terrain on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park is growing.

The latest numbers from the National Park Service put the total acreage at 660 acres.

Firefighters have been battling tough conditions in the park. High winds Wednesday afternoon grounded a firefighting helicopter at the scene.

No structures are threatened by the fire about two miles west of the Fern Lake trailhead. However, it prompted evacuations of a campground, backcountry campsites and trails in the area Tuesday, affecting about 40 hikers and campers.
