Fire in Rocky Mountain National Park grows to 300 acres

The Fern Lake Fire burning in Rocky Mountain National Park, just southwest of Estes Park, has grown to 300 acres.

The fire was reported at 2 p.m. Tuesday and is growing to the north toward Ute Trail, according to park officials.

The fire is in a heavily forested area. No structures are threatened.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
