Dog dies in Colorado Springs house fire

Colorado Springs Fire Department crews have put out a house fire in the 1000 block of Mt. Werner Circle. One dog died in the fire, with another dog missing.
A fire department spokesman says that officially the home is unoccupied, with the utilities turned off.
However, a man who identified himself as the brother of the homeowner, says the homeowner's adult daughter was living in the home with her dogs, while the homeowner was incarcerated.
The fire caused extensive damage. A cause has not yet been determined.
