The fire danger is once again increasing across Southern Colorado. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Southern Front Range and the I-25 corridor. Within the News 5 viewing area, it includes El Paso, Pueblo, Fremont, Teller, Huerfano, Custer, and western Las Animas counties. A Red Flag Warning means weather conditions are favorable for fires to ignite and spread out of control quickly. Any outdoor burning should be postponed until more favorable weather conditions exist. Also be mindful of cigarettes and be sure you dispose of them properly. You should never throw finished cigarettes or flick the ashes out the windows of a vehicle.
The rain is moving away and the wind will increase off the mountains later this afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 80's and lower 90's today around Colorado Springs with middle-to-upper 90's along and south of the Arkansas River.
