UPDATE: Fire burning south of Florence contained

A fire burned several hundred acres south of Florence Thursday evening, but is now out and contained.
The fire started around 2 p.m. on County Road 19 up to County Road 108, which is South of the Federal Bureau of Prison, East of Hwy 67 and North of Custer County Line. The fire is within the boundaries of the Florence Fire Protection District.
The Fremont County Sheriff's Office Wildland Fire Team, Florence Fire District, Penrose Fire District, Colorado State Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and several other local agencies worked together to contain the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
