Fire ban lifted in Fountain

The City of Fountain has lifted their "stage 1" fire ban, making normal fire activities legal.. Here is a list of what you can/cannot do.

Prescribed Burning
YES - by permit ONLY
NO - on Red Flag days

Blasting,Welding,Torches
YES - by permit ONLY

Outdoor Smoking
As normal; throwing cigarettes out car windows is always illegal

Model Rockets
YES - by permit ONLY

Use / Sale / Possession of Fireworks/Explosives
NO - ILLEGAL - up to $1,000 fine /90 days jail

Outdoor Cooking
(private property)
YES - Fires contained within propane fueled, natural gas fueled or charcoal grills are permitted

Outdoor Cooking
(in City parks)
YES - Fires contained within propane fueled, natural gas fueled or charcoal grills are permitted

Bonfires/Recreational Fires
YES - by permit ONLY,
NO - on Red Flag days

Residential fire pits;
store bought or owner constructed on private property
YES - Store bought fire pits do not require a permit. Property owners that have a permanently constructed fire pit must have a permit. Permits are free at the fire department.

All fires must be attended by a person over the age of 18.

All fires must be fully extinguished by midnight. No fires are allowed between midnight and 8:00 AM

**Anyone that has a fire that becomes out of control and causes damage is subject to be charged with Arson. **
