Salida's Mason Finley, a University of Kansas sophomore-to-be, threw the Discus 197-8 Sunday morning at the Rocky Mountain State Games-a new State Games record, and one of the best efforts in the nation this year. It eclipsed his Big 12 Championship throw of 197-5 and also his NCAA Second-Place toss of 191-05. It is his career best, too.

The 6-8, 375-pound Finley then won the Shot Put with a throw of 61-10.9, which is also a Rocky Mountain State Games record.
