Few showers today... more rain Friday

The atmosphere's moisture content is increasing, but that moisture is mostly in the lowest layers of the atmosphere near the ground. Water vapor, or moisture, well above the ground is much less abundant. Just enough water vapor exists near the ground, however, that the upslope breeze should help to develop some spotty showers this afternoon. Most areas will stay dry and only a few areas will actually see the rain. The catch is if heavy rain falls on the burn scars, that could increase the risk for flash flooding.

Temperatures today will max out around 90 around Colorado Springs and in the mid-to-upper 90's for most areas along and south of the Arkansas River.

Tomorrow a cold front moves through the area. It will increase the odds of rain falling for all of our area. Most areas should see some rain, and the rain will help to hold temperatures down.
