Work is underway to repair trails in our area that were damaged during last fall's flash floods.
FEMA is covering the majority of the costs for various projects. The Sinton Trail is undergoing a big facelift, where the banks of the South Douglas Creek are being restored and a crossing over the creek is being repaired.
Project manager Steve Burke says repairs along that stretch of the creek will cost around $140,000.
"It's time to get these back where people can enjoy them and spend time out here and not have to see the fencing," he says.
15 other projects are in the works including Cottonwood Creek and America the Beautiful Park.
