Feds in Boston reviewing '93 mail bomb probe

The U.S. attorney's office in Boston is reviewing its 1993 probe of an attempted mail bombing in which authorities questioned a professor recently accused of killing three colleagues in Alabama.
U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz said Wednesday she wants to confirm the office took "appropriate steps" in the investigation.
Amy Bishop and husband, James Anderson, were questioned in the case but never charged. Bishop is accused in three Feb. 12 shooting deaths at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
In the Massachusetts case, Dr. Paul Rosenberg received a bomb that never detonated. It arrived shortly after Bishop left a hospital research job in part because of a poor review by Rosenberg.
Federal investigative files say a witness told authorities Anderson said he wanted violent revenge on Rosenberg. Anderson says he and his wife were among several innocent people questioned.
