Federal Express Raises Shipping Rates

FedEx is raising shipping rates for ground and home delivery.
The rates will go up by 4.9%. Express package rates will also go up by 5.9%.
The new rates go into effect January 4, 2010.
FedEx saw its fiscal 2010 first quarter earnings fall 53%. The shipping company disclosed quarterly earnings of $181 million, compared to $384 million a year ago.
