The new FBI headquarters in Denver has been finished.
The new building, with attached parking garage, is located on what used to be the old Stapleton Airport.
Security was a major factor in the design of the 220,000 square-foot building. It was built by and leased to the FBI by Alex S. Palmer & Company.
The build also is LEED-certified to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The glass building also features two large private courtyards and is built to provide stunning views of the Rocky Mountains.
The building will house the headquarters for Denver-based FBI staff, who investigate cases in Colorado and Wyoming.
"This building is a state of the art facility which will allow us to more effectively and efficiently carry out our responsibilities," said FBI Special Agent in Charge James H. Davis. "We are delighted to become part of the Stapleton community and we appreciate the warm reception we've received."
