Father Arrested for felony charge of child abuse

Colorado Springs police have arrested 24 year old Daniel Sheffield for felony charge of child abuse causing serious bodily Injury to a child. He is the father of the eight month old male victim. Police say that it happened early Monday morning after 1:00 am. Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit responded to the hospital to continue the investigation of the eight month old with a skull fracture and a subdural hematoma. He was transferred to Memorial from Evans Army hospital. It was learned that the infant had been injured inside of an apartment located in the 4100 block of Westmeadow Drive, in Colorado Springs.
