Fatal crash in Widefield

Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol are investigating a fatal traffic accident on Goldfield Drive in Widefield.
A car and motorcycle collided about half a mile north of Fontaine Blvd. just before 5:30 p.m.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the car was transported to the hospital.
Speed is considered a contributing factor. Goldfield will be closed in both directions for a couple of hours as accident reconstruction teams investigate.
