Fatal auto v pedestrian accident under investigation

Pueblo Police are continuing to investigate a fatal traffic accident that occurred Saturday night on the 700 block of East 4th Street. Police say that a 44 year old man was walking on the street near oncoming traffic eastbound when a 1983 Ford LTD struck the man as he stepped into the oncoming lane.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the man to Parkview hospital where he later died from his injuries. Pueblo Police do not believe that drugs, alcohol or speed were factors with the driver and no charges have yet been filed. The names of both the driver and deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
