Fatal accident on I25 south of Pueblo injures children

Colorado State Patrol Troopers are still investigating a fatal traffic accident on I-25 approximately 6 miles south of Pueblo in which one person has been killed and four others have been injured.

The accident was reported shortly after 11:00 Am today at mile marker 88 on I 25. Troopers report that a Chrysler minivan was northbound on I-25 when the vehicle drifted into the center median. The vehicle lost control and rolled into the median ejecting one child.

The ejected child along with two other children were taken via ambulance to Parkview Hospital with unknown injuries. The driver was airlifted to Parkview, also with unknown level of injuries. One adult passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The casue of the accident and determination of proper restraint have not yet been released by State Patrol. Names of the victims are not being released at this hour pending the notification of next of kin.
