Detra Farries will be tried in El Paso County for the dragging death of tow-truck driver, Allen Rose.
Farries, 33, appeared in court today for a Change of Venue hearing, but that request was denied by a judge, according to the District Attorney's office.
Earlier this month, Farries attorneys argued that pretrial publicity of the case made it impossible for their client to get a fair trial.
In a Sept. 1 motion, attorneys for Detra Farries argued pretrial publicity would make it impossible for Farries to get a fair trial.
Farries is charged with 11 felony counts, including manslaughter, vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident in the Feb. 23 dragging death of Rose.
Rose, a 35-year-old Iraq War veteran, was trying to tow Farries' vehicle when police allege she got in and drove away, causing a tow cable to snare Rose's legs.
