WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Congressman Ron Paul is telling supporters he's had a fantastic showing after having finished third in the Iowa caucuses.
The Texas congressman says he sees his standing in Iowa as strong finish that will give him momentum to continue in the race. Paul says his third-place finish also represents a strong
challenge to the status quo.
Paul says his candidacy has helped spur important debate, particularly on foreign policy, where his views have been pilloried by other candidates.
Addressing supporters Tuesday night as returns were coming in, Paul said he will carry that message forward to New Hampshire.
