Students from Palmer High School honored a former teammate before a hockey game in Colorado Springs Monday night. Sam Hesselberg, 17, died on December 18 after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Monday night's match against Coronado at Sertich Ice Arena was originally scheduled to be played on December 20, but was postponed because of his death. It was Palmer's first time back on the ice without Hesselberg.

Fans "dressed for Hess" wearing his team number. Hesselberg was a three sport athlete at Palmer, also playing golf and baseball. The match ended in a draw 2-2.
