Family begs for public to help find missing 22-year-old woman

The family of a 22-year-old woman who went missing in Pueblo made an emotional plea Friday afternoon, asking anyone to come forward about the whereabouts of Kelsie Schelling.

Schelling of Denver has been missing since Feb. 4, 2013. Police say she drove to Pueblo in her 2011 black Chevrolet Cruz to meet an acquintance at Walmart on Northern Ave. in Pueblo. Cell phone records confirm Schelling made it to Pueblo and then vanished.

Video surveillance showed Schelling's car parked on the south end of the Walmart parking lot on Feb. 5 where it was left overnight. It was there until an unidentified man picked up the car on the morning of Feb. 6. Ten days later, Schelling's car was found at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital, but investigators won't say if she checked into the hospital.

The investigator on the case, Detective Neal Robinson, said the reason why they haven't released the video surveillance of the man is because both the footage and cell phone records were used to obtain court documents which were sealed by a judge.

Det. Robinson didn't reveal many details about the case but said the FBI has been assisting in the investigation. Although Schelling has been linked to an online modeling profile, Robinson said that the information came from the news media and not anyone working the investigation. While detectives have looked into a possible connection, he insisted "to comment on it now is not applicable."

Schelling's mother was distaught with tears and her immediate family remained solemn throughout the press conference. Her brother held back tears when it was his turn to address the media.

"Kelsie is absolutely a faith-filled person, a big heart and an electric smile," said Colby Schelling, Kelsie's brother, "She's very close with family and friends and would definitely not go this long without talking to somebody."

He family has set up a Facebook page "Help Find Kelsie" and they're asking the public for any information on her disappearance.

Kelsie Schelling is a white female who is 5'4 tall and weighs 120 lbs. She has shoulder-length brown hair and green eyes.
