As the community still mourns the tragic death of 14 year old Haley Gans, friends take time to remember the girl who touched many hearts. "She was an adorable girl." says Gans skating coach Christy Krall.
While there are smiles, to many it's still a shock. Allison Scott's son Jeremy, the reigning US figure skating champion was skating in Canada when he heard the news. "There were a lot of mixed emotions." explains Scott, "A lot of texts going out and a lot of phone calls going back and forth." As Abott took the gold he motioned to the heavens as a tribute to his friend.
Back home in Colorado, Haley is remembered by friends as a girl who will always bring a smile to everyone's face. "I would love everyone to remember Haley as this is the daughter you wanted to have." says Krall, "She was kind, gracious, well spoken and just a delight to be around." Scott agrees and adds, "Haley was a special little spirit and will be terribly missed."
