AURORA, Colo. (AP) - A plainclothes police officer investigating an extortion case in Aurora shot and killed a suspect after an altercation.
Aurora Police report that the unnamed officer fired several rounds at the suspect in the parking lot of a Family Dollar store Saturday evening. The unnamed suspect was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The Aurora Sentinel reports that a knife was recovered from the scene. The officer has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
