Ex-girlfriend claims deputy assaulted her, threatened life

Disturbing new details are emerging about a Pueblo County Sheriff deputy accused of holding an ex-girlfriend captive.

Deputy Randal Alire, 42, was arrested earlier this week for menacing with a deadly weapon, a class five felony. According to an arrest affidavit the victim claims Alire sexually assaulted her.

The woman says at one point Alire held a gun at her forehead and said "Get down on the ground or I am going to kill you... I am going to kill you, your son and parents."

The woman says Alire later turned the gun on himself and told her "One of us is going
to have to die."

Alire then reportedly let her go and she ran for help.

According to jail records, Alire has bonded out of jail. He remains on administrative leave from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, pending the outcome of the investigation.
