A former chief of construction at Fort Carson is accused of failing to report about $3,400 in gifts.
William T. Armstrong of Pueblo faces a federal charge of filing a false financial disclosure report. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and fined up to $250,000.
The charge was filed last week. Armstrong's attorney, David L. Miller, declined to comment.
Armstrong was Fort Carson's construction chief from 2007 to 2008. Prosecutors claim he filed a false financial disclosure in January 2008.
Court documents say the government used electronic and photographic surveillance to investigate Armstrong. Authorities haven't said what kind of gifts he's accused of taking.
