The man suspected in New Mexico as the "Ether Man" rapist continues to face charges in Pueblo, where he was arrested originally on a peeping tom charge.

Robert Bruce was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Wednesday in Pueblo District Court in a sexual assault that came to light after his alleged connection to New Mexico and Texas assaults became known last year. Law enforcement authorities believe he could be responsible for as many as 20 rapes.

Last October in Pueblo West, Bruce allegedly tried to blow up the home of a police officer scheduled to testify against him that day in a peeping tom case. He faces an attempted murder and explosives charge in that case. A hearing on those charges is set next week.

The preliminary hearing on the sexual assault charge has been moved to August 12. At that time the prosecution will present the evidence it has against Bruce and the judge will rule if there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial. That case stems from an attack on a young woman on Pueblo's south side in 2006.
