MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Engineering crews are inspecting damage done to the Metrodome when its roof collapsed over the weekend. And the stadium's owners expect word before the end of the day on whether it can be repaired for next Monday's Minnesota Vikings game.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission said Tuesday that experts from the company that made the roof, along with a crew of construction workers, electricians and plumbers are assessing the dome and aim to lay out options by Tuesday evening. The Metrodome's roof collapsed early Sunday under the weight of heavy snow.
Sports Facilities Commission president Roy Terwilliger says it's likely the University of Minnesota will be asked to prepare the smaller TCF Bank Stadium in case the Metrodome is not ready in time.
