Energy tips in honor of Earth Day

How about saving some money while helping our planet.
In honor of Earth Day, here's some energy tips.
Lighting consumes 15-percent of your home energy bill, so switching to energy efficient bulbs like LED or CFL lighting will save money.
Look for appliances and electronics that are marked with an "Energy Star" symbol, and when it comes to your lawn, lithium ion powered tools offer longer battery life.
On those hot sunny days, close curtains and windows facing south or west, trim back any plants growing around an outside air conditioner unit, and connect your TV and DVD players to a power strip.
Be sure to turn things off if you aren't using them.
