Pueblo County emergency responders are involved in their biggest drill of the year. Each year they test response methods related to a disaster.
Wednesday morning's scenario involves a helicopter carrying herbicides that made an emergency landing near Pueblo Technical Academy just east of Pueblo. Another incident will be rehearsed later in the day.
Local hospitals, law enforcement, fire crews and other emergency responders are involved. The drill includes students who will be acting as victims.
"We participate annually in this drill to learn," explained Eileen Dennis, Parkview Medical Center Chief Nursing Officer. "Parkview Medical Center's culture is based on Continuous Quality Improvement, and participation in this drill is essential in finding areas in which we need to improve."
