BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Jon Embree will be introduced as Colorado's new football coach on Monday morning.

Word got out late last week that the Washington Redskins tight ends coach was CU athletic director Mike Bohn's choice to replace Dan Hawkins, who was fired after going 19-39 in four-plus seasons in Boulder.

Bohn had refused to confirm the selection, instead telling the media and supporters that a committee in charge of narrowing down the choices for a new head coach had not yet completed its work and insisting that the job had not been offered to any candidate.

Embree himself confirmed Sunday that he would be CU's new head coach.

Embree will be joined in Boulder by fellow former Buffalo Eric Bieniemy, who will finish out the season as the Minnesota Vikings' running backs coach before returning to Colorado to serve as Embree's offensive coordinator.
