Elementary kids celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday

It's not too often you walk into an elementary school and see a student roaming the halls dressed as the Cat in the Hat, whiskers and all. But today, isn't any ordinary day.

Students at Minnequa Elementary in Pueblo celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday. As part of the celebration, local guests- like the Pueblo County sheriff, Pueblo police chief, and Pueblo fire chief- read some of Seuss's most popular stories.

New 5's Nicole Vandeputte was there with book in hand.

"Do you guys like Dr. Seuss?" asked Vandeputte.

"Yeah!" the group of kids replied.

"Oh, he's one of the best."

Dr. Seuss's official birthday is March 2. He would have been 110.
